The fight against drugs did not start with "Bassiani" and it will not be over - Giorgi Gakharia

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia had to answer the questions about special operation in night clubs in Tbilisi and intoxication of young people with uncertain drugs.

Member of "European Georgia" Elene Khoshtaria voiced Ana Subeliani"s question. Khoshtaria requested explanations regarding the May 12 special operation.

According to Giorgi Gagaria, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will work hard to fight against drugs.

"We believe that the fight against drugs is the most important priority for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as of today. The fight against drugs did not start with "Bassiani" and will not end with "Bassiani". There will be no closed spaces in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, when the issue concerns drugs and we will always do our utmost to fight against all kinds of drugs. Of course, the fight against narcotics and drugs is a transboundary problem, so our international cooperation and international partners are helping us in this direction. Of course, we should work together with the Parliament in this direction, especially in the part of the new drugs, "Giorgi Gakharia said.

Giorgi Gakharia believes that the fight against drugs cannot be the priority of the Ministry of Internal Affairs only. It is hoped that the Parliament will support the improvement of the legislative framework.

At this moment the Prime Ministerial candidate and the candidates for the ministers are being listened to in the legislative body. The Parliament should approve the Technical Government today.

The temporary government will work for three weeks. After three weeks the Prime Minister will present a new, reduced team. According to Mamuka Bakhtadze"s decision, 14 ministers will be reduced to 11.
