Eight questions to Georgia -European Court starts to study the case of Afgan Mukhtar

The European Court of Human Rights of Strasbourg began to study the case of Afghan Mukhtarli, a journalist missing from Tbilisi. The institution has already addressed the authorities of Georgia and Azerbaijan with official questions and requested to specify the circumstances.

The Strasbourg Court sent eight questions to the state of Georgia. The European Court wants to know whether the dignity of Afghan Mukhtarli was abused during kidnapping from the centre of Tbilisi, if the journalist"s right of expression was violated and if his liberty was deprived illegally.
The Strasbourg Court is also interested in whether a proper investigation was conducted into the case of Afghan Mukhtarli .

The attorneys of the Azeri journalist say that the answers should be sent to Strasbourg by the end of July.
