Russian militaries kidnapp two Georgian border guards - MIA released a statement

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has released a statement regarding the kidnapping of two Georgian border guards from the Lagodekhi border checkpoint.

The Ministry confirms that Georgian border guards are on the territory of the Russian Federation.

According to the MIA, two officers of the Border Police went to the Dagestan section of the state border to open a temporary summer checkpoint on June 27 , after which the communication with them was suspended.

At this time an agreement is reached with the Russian Federation"s relevant agencies and the detained two border guards will be handed over to the Georgian side on June 29.
