Former president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan was arrested.
The Yerevan court sentenced him to two-month pre-trial detention on charges of overthrowing constitutional order.
Robert Kocharyan, who held the post of president from 1998 to 2008, is convicted in the case of raiding the protest rally.
The case relates to the events of March 1, 2008, which killed 10 people and injured 250.
Then in the center of Yerevan the population protested against the election results and the election of Serge Sarkisian, a candidate for the first person.
The indictment says that Robert Kocharyan, in agreement with other senior officials, decided to disperse the demonstration that the investigation has estimated as the overthrow of the constitutional order.
