There is no need for alarm regarding non-recognition policy - Tsikhelashvili on possible visit of Assad to occupied Tskhinvali

Officials of the Georgian government respond to the planned visit of Bashar al-Assad in Tskhinvali. State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili assesses facts as a gross violation of international norms.

However, the members of the government think that there is no alarming situation in terms of non-recognition of Georgian territories, but Georgia should do everything that Russia"s policy will be unsuccessful in the future.

"There is no need for alarm regarding non-recognition policy but ,of course, the state will continue to work very closely with the partners so that Russia will not have any success in the future," - said Tsikhelashvili.

Prime Minister"s adviser Sozar Subari is referring to Bashar Assad as a criminal.

"Assad is an ordinary criminal who does not save his people and poisons them with gas banned by international conventions. So the civilized world.is not going to talk to him. This does not have a legitimate basis, "said Sozar Subari.
