"It is the most ungrateful activity to make a forecast on the Lari rate ," said the Minister of Finance of Georgia, Ivane Machavariani.

Ivane Machavariani finds it difficult to make a prediction when Lari will start to strengthen.

The minister also said that the National Bank is treating changing of the currency rate with high responsibility. According to Machavariani, the floating rate defines the health of the economy.
In the last month, the national currency devaluated by 7 per cent towards the dollar, which led to an increase in fuel and food prices.
