The "Georgian Dream" and its presidential candidate became the main topic of Sunday sermons. The cultivation of marijuana was not the only issue, on which the members of the Holy Synod criticized the authorities, Salome Zurabishvili was the main addressee of Archbishop Peter.

The Archbishop called Zarbeishvili"s viewpoints immoral and ridiculous. This sharp position of the Metropolitan of Chkondidi were caused by statements made by the candidate of "Georgian Dream" about the August war.

A member of the Holy Synod assessed Zurabishvili"s position on the August war as betrayal of his homeland as hatred, enmity and evil.

Archbishop openly urged the parish not to take the decision to support Salome Zurabichvili at the presidential elections. Salome Zurabishvili"s statement in which the presidential candidate compared Abkhazia
to gangrene was particularly unacceptable for the Metropolitan of Chkondidi.
