The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe plans to discuss Vano Merabishvili"s case in December.
After the Strasbourg Court established violation of Article 18 of the European Convention in Merabishvili"s case, the Committee should now discuss whether or not the Georgian authorities have responded to this decision in any form .
"The Georgian government has not done anything yet. I mean that they did nothing to eradicate the flaw and have not released Ivane Merabishvili. We have such an expectation. It would be nice if our government came to mind as fast as possible and did not wait for the ministerial to release Vano Merabishvili , "said Ivane Merabishvili"s lawyer Giorgi Chiviashvili.
The member of "European Georgia" Otar Kakhidze recommends to the Georgian government to release Ivane Merabishvili before the decision of the Committee of Ministers.
