"Vazha Pshavela: Some people think that true patriotism is against cosmopolitism but this is a mistake, every true patriot is a cosmopolitan, like every reasonable cosmopolitan is patriot, independent and free to live long," - said the president of the European Council Donald Tusk in the Georgian language to the participants of the Batumi conference.
During his speech, he spoke about Russia, the collapse of the Soviet Union and the positive processes that followed.
" In 2005 The Russian president said that the collapse of the Soviet Union was the biggest collapse of this era, I want to express this loudly and clearly, the collapse of the Soviet Union and the demolition, it was a very big and positive event for Georgia, Poland and Central and Eastern Europe, I am sure even for Russia itself. In regard to the membership, there is a vast majority of the EU population with concerns, there are many people in the European Union who have doubts about the expansion and I do not have such doubts. I want to tell you that such processes are not occurring in one day and the single plan doesn"t suit all cases. We will speed up political associations, promote political integration with the EU with Other partners, "- said Tusk.
