I have been trying to sell Cartu for 3 years and I have only one condition - the bank should not be close. The Chairman of the Georgian Dream says he is ready to sell Cartu Bank at nominal price.

In an interview with Entrepreneur Georgia, Bidzina Ivanishvili talks about the Cartu Bank and says he has had a different business since its creation. According to him the bank"s goal was not to make a profit and was intended only to help weaken the country"s banking system and help it.
“I have also been trying to sell Cartu for three years and I only have one condition – the bank must not be closed, the two existing powerful players on the market must not absorb it, and a third strong bank must exist. This is precisely why I refused to sell Cartu at a profit and I am prepared to sell the bank for a nominal price, that is, for the price that I initially put into the capital. Liberty Bank expressed interest in buying Cartu while observing the proposed condition, which is to be welcomed. This will be good for the banking system as the country needs a strong third bank”, - said Ivanishvili.
