Germany has gifted 12 new vehicles to the Georgian Defence Ministry - 8 water tank careers and 4 container careers.
The German government has allocated 1.5 million euros for the purchase of the vehicles.
Irakli Garibashvili, the Minister of Defence, thanked Germany for the “continued support.”
“Germany is an active supporter of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. We very much appreciate our close partnership with the country and the support we receive from Germany for the development of our country and integration into Euro-Atlantic structures”, - said Irakli Garibashvili.
“I am pleased to have been able to transfer 12 logistical vehicles to the Georgian Defense Forces.The project aims to develop the logistical capabilities of the Defense Forces.The Georgian Defense Forces provided us with information about their needs.As you can see, we bought 12 units of trucks.Some of them have the function of a water carrier and some of them have a container.They can be used in military missions, international missions, humanitarian aid and also for civilian purposes, such as natural disasters”, - said Hubert Knirsch.
