A meeting is underway between so-called “president” of occupied Abkhazia and opposition.

According to the Daniel Ubiria, secretary of the so-called “Public chamber”, they are a mediator in these talks.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also made a statement in connection with the ongoing developments in Abkhazia and called on the parties to stabilize the situation.

“We evaluate the ongoing processes in this country as domestic events. We hope that the situation will be promptly stabilized within the law through a direct peaceful dialogue of interested parties”, - reads the statement of Russian MFA.

Protesters have been demonstrating in Abkhazia since yesterday. Supporters of the opposition invaded into the building of so-called president’s administration yesterday. They call for the resignation of de facto President Raul Khajimba and demand annulment of the presidential election results.
