Pridon Kantaria, 65, accused of raping a physically challenged woman, has been sentenced to imprisonment.

A Judge at the Zugdidi Regional Court approved the prosecutor"s motion.

The police have also taken preventative measures to avoid possible vengeance by the victim"s relatives against the defendant"s relatives by detaining three more individuals.

65-year-old man was detained two days ago in his own house.
