The Akhalgori crossing point may still be closed today. The deadline set by the occupation regime has expired. At this time pensioners are still allowed to move to the territory, controlled by the central Government of Georgia.

“As announced by the Ossetian side, the movement will continue until today and then be closed for two months. However, there is information that the so-called checkpoint will be open for a few days for those pensioners who hold only Georgian ID and receive pensions in our controlled territory. There are 50 people who have not moved out. Therefore, as long as these people do not move, this crossing point may be open”, - said Akhalgori district Governor Nugzar Tinikashvili.
