Obstruction of Mikheil Saakashvili’s transfer to prison hospital planned - the SSSG

The State Security Service of Georgia [SSSG] announced today that it is probing a coup conspiracy supposedly involving members of the United National Movement.

“The suspects planned destructive actions, including blocking the path to Gldani prison hospital to cause chaos and uncontrollable situation and obstruct the possible transfer of the former president.

Similar actions could take place in the case of Mikheil Saakashvili’s transfer to other establishments as well”, - says the agency.

The SSSG is investigating the fact of conspiracy to overthrow the government. The investigation is underway under the first part of Article 315 of the Criminal Code, which envisages imprisonment for 5 to 8 years.
