Our government has proved that we are, of course, loyal and we fulfil the orders of our people. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

“We are now waiting for the EU decision on candidate status. As you know, we have pursued a very active foreign policy. On my instructions, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili is actively talking to his European counterparts. As of today, he has held more than 20 meetings with 17 counterparts from EU member states. He has meetings scheduled for this week and next week.

I had a very active foreign policy, I made many visits, including to Brussels, where I had high-level meetings. We talked to our European colleagues and, most importantly, we have fulfilled all the EU commitments.

Starting with the signing of the Association Agreement, free trade agreement, visa-free regime and now with the submission of the official application, our government has proved that we are, of course, loyal and we fulfil the orders of our people.

If not our Government, we would have been in very difficult conditions today and I would like to remind our friends, colleagues in Europe and everywhere that it is the merit of our Government that our country is an associated country, we have the Association Agreement, free trade, we have a visa-free regime and we have recently been honored to officially apply for membership”, - said Irakli Garibashvili.
