We do not have the right to turn the Georgian judicial system, the Georgian legislative space into a test object - Anri Okhanashvili

We do not have the right to turn the Georgian judicial system, the Georgian legislative space into a test object. Such a statement made today the Chairman of the Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee.

“The Georgian Dream is focused on reviewing in detail each proposal on the country’s judiciary system that was consistent with international standards. We are focused on discussing in detail each proposal on the judiciary, provided that there are proposals consistent with international standards. Such proposals should include best international practice already proven in various countries. We do not turn the reality of our country in relation to a specific issue into a trial”, - said Anri Okhanashvili.

The working group of the Georgian Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee, set up to work on judicial reform in the framework of the implementation of the European Union’s conditions for granting the country the membership candidate status, is holding another meeting today.
