Shalva Papuashvili meets with the Security Council Secretary of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan

The Speaker of the Georgian Parliament held a meeting with the Security Council Secretary of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan.

The parties underlined that the Georgia-Armenia relations are being intensively developed, which is expressed in the frequency of high-level visits. Grigoryan congratulated Georgia on a positive recommendation of the European Commission concerning the EU candidate status. The discourse included the developments in the region; the emphasis was placed on the importance of the achievement of the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Shalva Papuashvili stated that Georgia is always committed to facilitating regional peace. The parties concentrated on the increasing importance of the “middle corridor” and the prospects of diversification of the economy.

The meeting was attended by the First Vice-Speaker, Giorgi Volski; the Chair of the Defense and Security Committee, Irakli Beraia, and his Deputy, Tengiz Sharmanashvili.
