President meets representatives of small and medium-sized businesses in Orbeliani Palace

The President of Georgia met with the representatives of small and medium-sized businesses in Orbeliani Palace within the framework of “Our Voice to Europe” signature campaign.

“Politics should stay as far away from business as possible. Both should jointly develop the country, but independently as much as possible. This is also one of the European rules. There are examples in the world when big business and politics are not separated from each other, but the more independence and freedom there is, the better business will develop. This is what I can wish you.

I know that those of you here do not even need to explain how much this country needs to get closer to Europe, and at the end of the road, to join the European Union. You are representatives of the Georgian business, the future and development of which depends, on the one hand, on close relations with various EU countries, as well as on their entry here. In theory, we have the opportunity to export our products, but in reality we all know that in practice it is not used as much as it could be. More funding is needed, more support is needed to meet EU standards. The standards needed for the EU market to accept our product should be more accessible”, - said Salome Zourabichvili.
