The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, held a meeting with the Special Representative of the Secretary General of NATO for the Caucasus and Central Asia, Javier Colomina.
Discussions focused on priority issues relating to NATO-Georgia political and practical cooperation. A positive assessment was given to the rather dynamic and content-laden agenda of the current year. The sides highlighted the European Union’s decision of historical importance, which will help Georgia join NATO as well.
The sides exchanged views on the security environment in the region, and Javier Colomina once again confirmed the Alliance’s unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia. Talking points also included the NATO Washington Summit planned for 2024.
Ilia Darchiashvili thanked Javier Colomina for his contribution to the progress in the Euro-Atlantic integration process.
