According to the Georgian Railways, due to heavy snowfall in Western Georgia, trains are stopped at different locations.

“Due to bad weather in Western Georgia, passenger trains are stopped at different locations. The Georgian Railways tries its best to ensure that passenger flights are performed without delays, however, as we note, due to reasons independent of the railway, the bad weather in Western Georgia creates various problems on the railway.

As of now, the substations on the section of the pass are disconnected. In particular, the railway contact network is not supplied with electricity.

Georgia Railways spares no effort to resume passenger train traffic as soon as possible, without delays, as soon as the electricity supply is stable”, - reads the statement.
