The Tbilisi City Council approved the draft regulation plan for the development of a multifunctional complex in the territory of “Laguna Vere”. 23 deputies supported the project, 5 were against it.

During the session of the Sakrebulo, representatives of the Georgian Dream" and opposition verbally confronted each other several times.

“This is one of the most difficult projects in the history of this city in recent years, and the construction of two 50-story skyscrapers in the vicinity of Laguna Vere will be an indelible, huge damage to the historical appearance of our city. This is a project that carries a lot of risk overall. It is a truly dark day in the history of our city when this unfortunate project was approved in a historic part of our city, with huge risks from a safety, traffic and historical-cultural point of view. This project was approved despite all the arguments”, - said opposition MP Saba Buadze, from Lelo.

“The mentioned project is very important for our city. This project is in full compliance with the general plan and provides for the preservation and development of historical buildings, as well as the rehabilitation of the Laguna Vere sports-recreational complex”, - added the Chairman of Tbilisi City Council, Giorgi Tkemaladze.
