Restrictions still apply on the Kobi-Gudauri Road

The Roads Department of Georgia said Restrictions still apply on the Kobi-Gudauri Road. According to the agency, trailers and semi-trailers temporarily banned from the Gudauri-Kobi stretch of the international Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi highway.

The National Environment Agency noted traffic on the Mleta-Gudauri and Gudauri-Kobi sections would proceed “without interruptions”, with the latter segment exclusively utilising avalanche protection tunnels. The regulated traffic flow will be closely monitored and coordinated by the patrol police.

Traffic on the Mestia road was fully restored. Due to the collapse of the rock mass, all types of vehicle traffic were prohibited on this section. A large rock mass fell on the 73rd kilometer of the Zugdidi-Jvari-Mestia-Lasdili road 2 days ago.
