The protest rally in Tbilisi, on Rustaveli Avenue, in the vicinity of the parliament building, took on a violent manner, reads the statement, released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“Participants of the rally verbally and physically confront the law enforcement officers at the site.

Despite numerous appeals made by law enforcement officers, the participants of the rally attempted to break through the police cordon multiple times.

In order to restore order, the police administered special means established by law.

The Ministry once again calls on organizers of the manifestation, political party leaders and rally participants to follow the rightful requests of the law enforcers and observe norms of expressing protest defined by law”.
