Special Investigation Service filed charges against the Inspector of the Security Police Department for committing the violent crime

The Special Investigation Service [SIS] exposed the inspector of the Security Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia on the grounds of intentional infliction of less serious harm to health and damage to another person’s property.

The investigation established that on February 15, 2024, in the Gardabani district, the accused law enforcement officer, following a verbal altercation, used an iron object to damage the victim’s vehicle. He then used the same object to inflict physical injuries on the victim in various parts of the body.

The SIS promptly conducted urgent investigative activities upon receiving notification from the victim. Following the interviewing of witnesses, an inspection of the damaged car and the accident scene, and the recovery of numerous pieces of material evidence, the security police inspector was charged under the first part of Article 118 and the first part of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

Crime envisages imprisonment for up to 5 years.

The SIS continues the investigation of the case.
