As a result of investigative activities carried out by the representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, criminal prosecution was initiated against one person, on the fact of deliberate tax evasion committed in particularly large quantities.

Investigation determined that the accused person, in order to receive illegal material benefit, in violation of the tax legislation, was systematically incorrectly declaring income of the company under his management, in which way he avoided the tax belonging to the state budget, the principal amount of which equals to GEL 1 499 116.

Investigation is underway under the second part of Article 218 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 5 to 8 years.
