There is no talk of closing the Lugar Center or the National Center for Disease Control [NCDC]. The Minister of Health announced this at a briefing held in the agency.

According to Mikheil Sarjveladze, there is talk of stopping several current projects, the content of which is research activities and trainings.

“We have heard a rather irresponsible statement with free and, in many cases, malicious interpretations about the alleged suspension of the activities of the Lugar Laboratory and the NCDC, and the termination of funding.

I want to state with full responsibility that there is no talk of closing the Lugar Lab or the NCDC. Actually, both the Lugar laboratory and the NCDC continue to work smoothly”, - said the Minister.
