I share the grief of Ermile Gigiadze’s family, that’s why I warned donors to be strict with NGOs they funded, asked them to condemn and disassociate themselves from this campaign of hatred and violence - Papuashvili

The Speaker of the Parliament sent his condolences to family members of Ermile Gigiadze, member of the Georgian Dream, who passed away after being verbally abused by an opposition activist in the village of Geguti, Tskaltubo municipality.

“It is obvious that first normalising contempt and hatred on the part of the United National Movement and NGOs, and then turning it into something worthy of praise, would inevitably lead us to such a tragic incident.

“That is why I warned donors to be strict with the NGOs they fund. That is why I have asked them to condemn and distance themselves from this campaign of hatred and violence.

I told them about this during personal meetings - zero outcome. I stated it publicly - zero outcome. They ignored everything: the “I shot” campaign, threatening [ruling party] MPs with 84 bullets in the head, telephone terror, bullying family members, branding [opponents] as slaves, and then joking about it on social media, absolutely everything. A tragedy has happened and nothing can fix it”, - write Shalva Papuashvili.
