A six-member delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by Iulian Bulai (Romania, ALDE), will make a pre-electoral visit to Georgia from 23-24 September to assess the election campaign and political climate prior to the parliamentary elections on 26 October 2024.
In Tbilisi, the delegation is due to meet the President of Georgia, the Speaker of Parliament, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, members of the parliamentary majority and opposition, the Chairperson and members of the Central Electoral Commission, and the heads of the National Communications Commission and Anti-Corruption Bureau, among others, as well as representatives of civil society and the media.
The delegation is due to issue a statement at the end of the visit. A full delegation will travel to Georgia to observe the elections alongside other international observers, on 26 October.
