Giorgi Gakharia, Chairman of the “For Georgia” party, signed President Salome Zourabichvili’s proposed initiative, the Georgian Charter, at the Orbeliani Palace.
The party’s press service confirmed this information.
Salome Zourabichvili presented the Declaration of Unity, Georgian Charter, on May 26.
Gakharia’s decision to join the Charter follows a week of failed negotiations between him and Lelo’s leader, Mamuka Khazaradze, to unite their election lists, mediated by the President.
Salome Zourabichvili has scheduled a briefing at the Orbeliani Palace for 8 p.m. local time today. The exact topic of the briefing was not announced.
