Employees of Migration Department deported 42 citizens of foreign countries from Georgia

Employees of Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs deported 42 citizens of different countries from Georgia last month based on the Law of Georgia “On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons”. Some of the citizens of foreign countries left Georgia voluntarily, while some were deported from the country as a result of measures taken by the employees of the Migration Department.

42 citizens of Turkmenistan, Iraq, Turkey, India, Iran, Nigeria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Russia, Jordan and Pakistan were deported from the country based on the Law of Georgia “On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons”.

Among the deported are individuals who were involved in various anti-social activities on the territory of Georgia.

The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is the body responsible for the fight against illegal migration within the country. One of its competences is the identification of citizens of foreign countries who reside in Georgia without a legal basis and their deportation from the country.
