In the direction of tourism, we have extraordinary trends, the number of hotels has tripled over the past 12 years. The Prime Minister of Georgia said this in his speech at the presentation of the project of a new hotel and recreation complex in Sioni.

“I am glad to be here today and attend the presentation of this extraordinary project. An outstanding hotel complex is being built, all the conditions will be created for people to have the opportunity to relax.

In general, for new initiatives in the direction of tourism, for new motivation, it is very important that there is “Le MERIDIEN” brand. Many of us have spent our childhood on Sioni Lake, and such an environment has been created that provides the best opportunity for the ideal development of the hotel infrastructure.

In general, we have extraordinary trends in the direction of tourism, the number of hotels has tripled in the last 12 years, about 800 hotels were operating across the country by 2012, and today, in addition, there are about 1,600 hotels added to our tourism sector. We have 85,000 new places in these hotels, while there were only 23,000 places 12 years ago.

Of course, the Government will continue to support tourism and such projects in the future. Such type of projects mean more employment, strengthening of the economy, strengthening of the regions, and of course, the implementation of this project is particularly important for the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region.
