A preparatory meeting for the 62nd round of the Geneva International Discussions [GID] was held in Tbilisi.

Emphasis was placed on the main issues on the agenda of the GID - on the need to fulfill the international obligations assumed by the cease-fire agreement of August 12, 2008 concluded by Russia with the mediation of the European Union, and to advance in the direction of the safe return of internally displaced persons.

Also, on the importance of restoring the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism in Gali without any preconditions.

The next round of negotiations is scheduled for November 5-6.
