Memorandum of Understanding has been concluded between Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia and local observer organizations.
Signatories agree on the uniform interpretation of Article 45, Article 48 and Article 49 of the Election Code of Georgia, pertaining to utilizing administrative resources. They confirm that they will follow the interpretations indicated in the Memorandum while engaging in administrative and legal proceedings.
CEC Deputy Chairperson, Giorgi Sharabidze, highlighted importance of Memorandum during signing ceremony. As he said, this crucial practice has been introduced since 2010, becoming tradition on each succeeding general election. The practice promotes unambiguous understanding of issues related to using administrative resources and advancement of election environment, in general.
Memorandum has been signed by certain local observer organizations, that have already completed registration procedures for elections. The document remains open for signature, allowing each interested individual to sign it.
