Moldova has failed to pass any test of democracy through its elections – Kobakhidze

Moldova has failed to pass any test of democracy through its elections. They’re throwing dust in our eyes, telling us that Moldova deserves candidate status while the Georgian people and government don’t. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

“Elections were held in Moldova. You saw what happened there. Moldova failed to pass any test of democracy through these elections. Even before that, candidates were disqualified one after another on fabricated pretexts. They’re placing Moldova ahead of us. Moldova, which held such elections. If statements are needed, they should be about Moldova, for the sake of fairness.

Statements are needed about Moldova, which is a CIS member, where more than half of the population opposes European integration. They’re throwing dust in our eyes, telling us that Moldova deserves candidate status and negotiations, while the Georgian people and government don’t. This is shameful. As soon as the war in Ukraine ends and elections pass, justice will be restored immediately”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
