Rally dispersal began earlier because of the aggressive group – Vazha Siradze

The Head of the Patrol Police Department, said today that the decision to disperse today’s rally earlier than before was taken because today’s rally started from the beginning with “aggression and violence” from a group of 300-400 people.

According to Vazha Siradze, the police were “forced to use proportional force” against them.

He claimed that this group of people threw firecrackers, bottles and various things at the police and verbally abused them at the same time.

“You all clearly saw in recent days that units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were stationed near the Parliament to maintain public security. They endured the repeated, violent actions and aggression of the rally participants.

More than 100 police officers were injured as a result of fireworks and various metal objects being thrown, causing serious injuries, some of which required surgical intervention”, - added Vazha Siradze.
