Four opposition parties have addressed Syria’s new government with a request to withdraw its recognition of Abkhazia’s independence.

“In 2018, Syria recognized the independence of Abkhazia. Now that the genocidal Assad regime is gone and there is a new government. As a pro-Western opposition, we are fulfilling our patriotic duty and acting in the interests of our homeland, and we have addressed Syria’s new government with a request and demand to revoke the recognition of Abkhazia”, - said Nika Gvaramia, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change.
