Chairman of the Committee on European Integration of the Georgian Parliament said today that “there were forces seeking to drag Georgia into chaos”.

At the parliamentary plenary session, Levan Makhashvili highlighted the dramatic and, for many, unacceptable and immoral shifts occurring on the world stage.

“The world is changing. It is changing in ways unimaginable and unacceptable to many, even immorally. However, such is the ruthless nature of global politics. There is no place for political charlatans in it. One miscalculated step, and a state can disappear from the face of the earth without anyone even expressing concern.

The global changes were reaching a logical conclusion, with a ring of fire now forming from Ukraine to the Middle East.

In this difficult environment, we cannot remain passive observers. Diplomacy is our only weapon. Therefore, when Salome Zourabichvili forced the state to discard this sole weapon by refusing to appoint ambassadors, we must urgently correct this mistake and give Georgian diplomats the opportunity to effectively protect Georgia"s interests”, - said Levan Makhashvili.
