All dairy products currently available on store shelves are compliant with safety standards - Zurab Chekurashvili

All dairy products currently available on store shelves - both locally produced and imported - are compliant with safety standards, pose no health risks, and are safe for consumption. Such a statement the Head of Georgia’s National Food Agency made at today’s briefing.

“I want to assure the public with full responsibility that the dairy and dairy products currently on sale, whether local or imported, are in line with standards, harmless, and do not pose any risks.

All imported batches, not only from Azerbaijan but from all countries, will undergo thorough checks, with a “double filter” inspection system in place.

Regarding recent concerns. In response to the presence of aflatoxins in certain batches of Soplis Nobati milk, the Agency acted in accordance with international standards and practices. As soon as the violation was identified, we informed the public and, in cooperation with the company, began a nationwide withdrawal of the affected products”, - explained Zurab Chekurashvili.
