The Government of Georgia announced the nomination of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for the prestigious St. George’s Order of Victory, following his historic triumph in the UEFA Champions League. The relevant statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.
“I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on winning the Champions League - football’s highest honour. This victory is a matter of immense pride for our entire country and is perceived by every Georgian fan as a shared triumph.
We must not only celebrate his success but also thank him for bringing glory to Georgia. I am confident this is just the beginning of many more milestones he will reach in his career. Wishing him continued success.
We have a tradition of honouring outstanding athletes. In 2024 Kvaratskhelia received the Order of Honour for his contributions to the national team. His recent Champions League victory clearly merits the highest honour of the Order of Victory of Saint George.
After consultations with the President and the Speaker of Parliament, we unanimously agreed that he deserves this highest national honour. The President will bestow the award upon him”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
