The Emergency Management Service [EMS] of the Ministry of Internal Affairs [MIA] has established a field operations headquarters in Kakheti to prevent and respond to fires during the grain harvest.

Special equipment and personnel have been mobilized in the Dedoplistskaro and Signagi municipalities. To aid prevention, drone monitoring will be conducted in these areas.

The risk of forest and field fires rises during summer, often caused by citizens starting fires on agricultural lands or through negligence. The EMS urges the public to act responsibly by refraining from lighting fires on agricultural lands, near forests, or fields and by not leaving fire sources unattended.
