Compared to 2024, interest of young people and number of vacancies within the internship program have increased, which once again emphasizes importance of this process - Mikanadze

Compared to the previous year [2024], interest of young people and number of vacancies within the internship program have increased, which once again emphasizes importance of this process. Such a statement made today the Minister of Education.

"The Parliament of Georgia adopted relevant amendments to the Law on Civil Service at the previous convocation, on the basis of which we have developed an internship scheme in line with European standards. According to the new scheme, internships are considered part of the internship and are paid.

This year, by the decision of the Prime Minister, we have announced a new competition, registration continues until September 10. Compared to the previous year, the interest of young people and the number of vacancies have increased, which once again emphasizes the importance of this process. I urge interested people to register on time and participate in the competition.

At this stage, internships have been announced for 3,147 vacant positions, and according to the latest data, more than 18,800 people have applied.

I would like to share with you the current situation in this regard at the Ministry of Education. Vacancies have been announced for about 200 positions, both in the Ministry, in resource centers and LEPLs.

As of yesterday, 36 positions have been announced in the central office and we have received 561 applications. 62 positions have been announced in resource centers and 249 applications have been received. As for LEPLs, 744 applications have been received for 97 positions", - said Givi Mikanadze.

As he added, many young people participated in the program last year and after the internship, they were employed: “They were given a unique opportunity to apply their knowledge in practice and develop their skills. The initiative also contributes to attracting young people to local government bodies and employing them on the spot, which is especially important in the case of regions”.
