A Georgian citizen was illegally detained by Russian occupation forces near the village of Zemo Khviti, Gori municipality.

According to the State Security Service of Georgia [SSSG], it immediately activated the EU Monitoring Mission’s hotline and informed the Co-chairs of the Geneva International Discussions and international partners.

“All available mechanisms have been mobilized to secure the swift release of the detained Georgian citizen, and the occupying forces bear full responsibility for their actions”, - adds the agency.
