The Georgian government has begun paying Inter RAO international arbitration award. The amount is USD 139 million, which the country will pay by July 10, 2028.
The first transfer was made on December 31.
An agreement on compensation services has already been reached between the Georgian government and Inter RAO. The case concerns two parallel arbitration cases that Georgia lost against Inter RAO and are related to a tariff dispute that began years ago.
As the Government says, after the Georgian Dream came to power, it began the process of returning strategic assets alienated by Mikheil Saakashvili and the United National Movement. Now, the country is paying for this in international arbitrations.
