Minister of Internal Affairs Geka Geladze, together with Deputy Minister Shalva Tadumadze, visited the Temporary Detention Department, met with the employees of the newly established Escorting Main Division and wished them success in their future activities.

The meeting discussed the main directions of the department"s activities, including the specifics of the work of the new division. According to Geka Geladze, the new Escorting Main Division will ensure the process of removing/transferring detainees in accordance with the latest European standards and ensuring the maximum security of both employees and detainees.

It is notable, that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has already purchased 55 vehicles equipped in accordance with appropriate standards for the new Division.

During his visit to the temporary detention center in Avchala, the Minister received detailed information from the authorities about the current situation and necessities existing in the detention centers. In addition, Geka Geladze inspected the work spaces of the employees of the detention center and thanked them for their work.
