The Defense and Security Committee discussed, in the II reading, the draft laws on the Intelligence Service and on the State Security Service of Georgia.
According to the draft amendments, the powers exercised directly by the Head of the Intelligence Agency will be separated from those exercised in coordination with the Head of the State Security Service.
The draft amendments were reviewed by the Defense and Security Committee for the II reading.
The legislative initiative of the parliamentary majority was introduced by the Committee Chair, Alexander Tabatadze. Committee members also reviewed, in the II reading, the draft law on Combating Corruption. According to the reporter, MP Ioseb Jorbenadze, the amendment envisages granting employees of the Giorgi Abramishvili Military Hospital of the Ministry of Defense the right to engage in additional remunerated employment for a period of one year. The draft laws are submitted under an expedited procedure.
