Iran`s top joint military command announced the closure of the Strait of ⁠Hormuz on Thursday, including oil tankers and commercial ships, saying any vessel that ⁠will attempt passage will be shot ⁠at, writes Reuters.

"The Strait of Hormuz will be closed until further notice after multiple incidents surrounding the waterway, Iran`s Persian Gulf Strait Authority has said.

Blaming "tensions created by the American aggressor forces in the region", the PGSA said applicants who had already received transit permits should remain patient and await further guidance", - adds NBC NEWS.
