Tbilisi City Hall implements a number of programmes aimed at promoting education and a healthy lifestyle among children and young people from socially vulnerable families registered in the Unified Database of Socially Vulnerable Families with a rating score of 70,000 or below. Such a statement made today the Mayor of Tbilisi.
“Among these initiatives, the municipality finances educational and extracurricular activities for members of socially vulnerable families under the age of 18 at the National Youth Palace, sports schools, swimming pools, youth centres, and art schools.
On average, around 10,000 students benefit from these programmes each year. Students may choose from a wide range of activities, including music and choreography, artistic reading, fine and applied arts, as well as various academic clubs. The municipality also finances training in football, gymnastics, swimming, wrestling, and other sports disciplines.
Under the three programmes, children and young people are entitled to participate in one activity within each programme category. Specifically, each student may select up to three different activities. The services are available upon submission of an application to the relevant educational institution or to the administration of the National Youth Palace”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
