Nana Sander, Abo Naveriani, Anton Uber, and Mariam Mekantsishvili, have been found guilty over the events of October 4 involving an attempted storming of the Presidential Palace.

In particular, Nana Sander was sentenced to 7 years in prison, while Abo Naveriani and Anton Uber were each handed 5-year custodial sentences. Mariam Mekantsishvili was ordered to pay a GEL 5,000 fine. Anton Uber was sentenced in absentia as he remains a fugitive from justice.

Before the verdict, the defendants addressed the court with their final statements. They insisted they only attended the October 4 rally to protect Georgia’s European future, denying all charges.

A total of 12 individuals had been detained under this specific episode of the case. Eight of them entered guilty pleas and secured plea bargains, resulting in their immediate release from the courtroom.
