Members of the Law Enforcement Tactical Team of the Coast Guard Department of the Georgian Border Police, for the fifth time, will participate in the NATO Maritime Security Operation "Sea Guardian", in July.

Before leaving for Greece, Deputy Head of the Georgian Border Police, Davit Bitskinashvili, met the members of the Law Enforcement Tactical Team. Davit Bitskinashvili discussed the importance of Georgia’s participation in the Maritime Operation. During the meeting, Deputy Head of the Border Police wished success and emphasized the importance of presenting the country with dignity in the International Maritime Operation.

"Sea Guardian" is a NATO-led and currently, the only Maritime Security Operation, which aims to combat terrorism, support freedom of navigation, strengthen maritime security capabilities, prevent illegal economic activities and raise awareness about the maritime situation.

The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Border Police Administration Tatia Sulakvelidze, Deputy Head of the Administration Tamta Danelia and Head of the International Relations Division Ramaz Papidze.
